General Information
Â
Understanding a disease process right through pathogenesis and clinical behaviour prepares the clinician to intercept and treat. And we endeavour to impart this knowledge to our students so that they can be good clinicians in the future. The Department is responsible for teaching, research, and service for a variety of head and neck pathologies with emphasis on diseases of the mouth, jaws, TMJ (temporomandibular joint), and oral manifestations of bodily disease.
Â
The Department of Oral Pathology & Microbiology is the department with responsibilities for undergraduate teaching in the first three years of the BDS course, preparing young minds to help them become better dental surgeons in their lives, by laying down healthy foundations of the basic subjects. Along with the academic duties, the department also serves the community by providing biopsy & cytology service and also routine haematology services.
With the aforementioned goals and objectives, we are also striving to lay the foundation for Forensic Odontology for Oral Pathologists. With the attached Forensic Odontology laboratory, several projects and research work has been sanctioned by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Science and Technology (DST), and Uttar Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (UP- CST).
