Welcome to the Faculty of Dental Sciences, King Georges Medical University, U.P. Lucknow. The Dental establishment at King Georges Medical University, is one of the oldest post-independence dental institutions in the country and has remained as one of the top institutions for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the country for more than seven decades and is currently ranked among the top five in the country (NIRF ranking). Since its foundation in the year 1949, the Faculty of Dental Sciences has been committed to excellence in education, patient care, research, and public service.

The establishment is extremely well funded by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and caters to one of the largest OPD’s in the country with patients from Lucknow, other parts of Uttar Pradesh, neighbouring states and adjacent countries.

Coming here for specialized dental treatment at a very affordable cost, our students possess the abilities and confidence to provide technical advice and policy leadership addressing the challenges to oral health to improve oral health population-wide. As we focus on developing exceptional dentist, we are ever mindful that academic excellence must be matched with empathy, ethics and high moral standards.

The Faculty of Dental Sciences has always been a preferred choice of students wanting to pursue their undergraduate degree in dentistry as well as in various disciplines of postgraduation. Our alumni over the years constitute some of the most eminent dental fraternity of the country. Most alumnus are illustrious practioners, educationist and administrators in the country and abroad. Some being conferred the most prestigious Padma Bhushan, Padmashree and B.C. Roy awards. Most of our faculty members are nationally acclaimed.

At present, there are nine departments, with an annual intake of seventy BDS students with three seats each in oral pathology, public health dentistry and oral medicine and six each in the remaining departments. Each department being very well equipped with advanced dental armamentarium and materials which are readily available to students and patients. The dental faculty has one of the biggest centrally air conditioned infrastructure in the country.
