Bachelor of Dental Surgery
BDS is a 5 years course as per gazette of Govt. of India Notification No. 182 dated 10 th September, 2007 for undergraduate students. Admissions are made through UP state Combined Pre Medical Test and through All India Medical Entrance Examination conducted by CBSE and 10 seats are reserved for nominees of the Government of India.

After passing the final professional examination and one year rotatary internship the candidates shall be eligible for the award of BDS degree and registration with the Dental Council of India.
Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) : These are 3 years' courses which commence in May. Course structure and content are in accordance with guidelines of the Dental Council of India. Candidates are eligible for entry after obtaining a registrable BDS degree. Admission are through UPPGMEE &AIPGMEE. There are a total of 28 seats every year (12 through the All India Postgraduate medical Examination, 12 through the Uttar Pradesh Postgraduate Medical Examination and 4 Government of India nominees(service candidates)

The MDS degree shall be conferred after acceptance of a thesis and after the candidate has passed the MDS examination which is held at the end of 36 months. The examination consists of 4 written papers, clinical (or practical) and oral examinations.
Diplomas in Dental Hygiene (Department of Periodontics) and Dental Mechanics (Department of Prosthodontics): These auxiliary courses were started in the 1960s under Dental Council of India regulations. Teaching in these courses is entrusted to the respective departments. They are each of 2 years duration. Candidates are eligible after passing the Intermediate Examination with Science and Biology. Candidates are selected through an entrance examination.
