The Centre for Advanced Research (CFAR) is a premier research centre in frontier areas of modern biomedical
sciences. The objectives of the CFAR are to conduct high quality research and training in frontier areas of modern biomedical sciences,
and promote centralized state/national facilities for novel and modern techniques in the inter-disciplinary areas of biomedical sciences.
CFAR was set up formally as an independent department of KGMU in its present campus on September 29, 2013. The faculty and students in the Centre for
Advanced Research (CFAR) at King George's Medical University (KGMU) are actively engaged in research in a highly-diverse variety of research topics
and projects addressing a spectrum of issues of interest and concern to the scientific, medical and global need. The Department of CFAR offers a
range of PhD and postdoctoral training programs. An emphasis on interdisciplinary and collaborative research gives faculty and students opportunities
to investigate a diverse array of living systems using a wide variety of clinical research approaches. The department’s research spans the scales of
biological organization from Stem Cell/Cell Culture, Molecular Biology, Cytogenetics, Forensic Fingerprinting Printing etc. with world-class facilities.
The CFAR is committed to the dissemination and advancement of knowledge in biomedical sciences and established as a centre of excellence in tertiary level
health care and research. It’s being a discipline-specific institution performing bio-medical research and imparting education in medicine found special
mention for finding a place in the multi-disciplinary institutions of the country.
